She was born to a stray, dumped on a local farm. Her siblings are all perfectly normal, but little Trip was born special. She has moderate Cerebellar Hypoplasia. This condition is sometimes called "Wobbling Kitten" or "Drunk Cat". The part of her brain that controls her motor skills is malformed, so Trip has some difficulty getting around and doing simple kitty things. So the woman caring for Trip was facing the difficult decision of euthanasia, knowing this little girl would never survive outside. Instead, she contacted us, and we were VERY happy to help. Trip is full of life and though sometimes we feel frustrated for her when she can't quite do the things she wants to do, we don't feel sorry for her. She's a very happy baby kitty, and she is spunky and loves to play, even though she may play a little differently than other kittens her age. She is unable to use a litterbox at this time, but is trained to use a puppy pad and is faithful about doing so. She is currently about 9 weeks old, and though CH isn't something she will ever 'recover' from, she will, as she grows and ages, learn ways to compensate for her condition. She will, however, always require a home that is willing to make special arrangements for her special needs. We are not currently accepting applications for Trip. We are, however, in great need of puppy pads, baby wipes, old blankets, towels, paper towels, and canned food. If you're able to donate toward Trip's care, it is greatly appreciated.
